Trent Dyer, 21 - Rugby Union

Trent was a member of the inaugural CCAS rugby union program in 2004. Since then, Trent has remained involved as an associate scholarship athlete with the CCAS and has progressed his rugby career as a representative of NSW Country between 2005 - 2007, NSW under-17s in 2006 and NSW Schools II in 2007. More recently, Trent has been selected as a member of the Australian Rugby 7s squad and played in the 2010/11 IRB Sevens Tournament in Dubai. Trent is a first-grade front-rower for Sydney University, where he is also studying a Bachelor of Education.

 


Nate Henry, 17 - Short Track Speed Skating

Nate is a member of the CCAS speed skating squad and was named speed skating athlete of the year in 2010 prior to his selection to represent Australia at the 2011 World Junior Short Track Speed Skating Championships in Turin, Italy during February. The Central Coast Grammar School student was crowned National Australian Junior Short Track Champion in 2009 and qualified for the world championships in 2010 - skating within ten percent of the world record time for the 1000m distance.

Riley McKay, 12 - Barefoot Waterskiing

Riley started barefoot waterskiing at just 5 years of age and won her first Australian medal in her first year of competition at age 7, placing 3rd in the under-14 girls division. With 5 NSW under-14 sub-junior girls state titles now under her belt, Riley will go down in the history of the sport by becoming the only girl since recording began back in 1963, to achieve 5 NSW state titles. At just 8 years old and already representing Australia, Riley was the youngest competitor in the world when she competed in her first world title event finishing 9th and recording 2 personal best scores in the under-17 women's slalom event.

Jared Scoines, 23 - Basketball

Jared played all of his junior basketball on the NSW Central Coast with the Gosford City Rebels before progressing into the senior ranks following numerous state team selections and representations. In 2005, Jared was selected as one of only two Australian players to attend the Adidas All-Star Camp in China and was further selected to attend the Adidas USA camp. In 2007, Jared joined the West Sydney Razorbacks in the National Basketball League (NBL) as a development player and is currently a member of the resurrected Sydney Kings NBL team - coached by CCAS Managing Director Ian Robilliard.
