Patients and visitors to Casino Hospital will be
able to admire an artwork by a promising local artist thanks to the
Greater Building Society.
The
Greater purchased the oil painting "Endangered Eyes" from 17 year old
Natasha Crook at the Casino Beef Week Art Exhibition in May.
Greater Building Society Casino branch manager Michael Goodwin and
Ms Crook will hand over the artwork to Casino Memorial Hospital chief
executive officer Peter Jeffree at the hospital on Thursday July 13 at
11.30am.
Ms Crook says the painting of the tiger took three months to
complete. She is a self taught artist who specialises in wildlife oil
painting.
Since being selected by the Greater the painting has been on
exhibition at the Casino Neighbourhood Centre and at the Greater's
Casino branch in Walker Street.
Mr Goodwin says the Greater was pleased to be able to support Beef Week, local artists and the hospital.
"We have been a part of this community for almost 25 years and it is
important to find ways to give back to the community you serve," Mr
Goodwin says.
The Greater opened a branch in Casino in 1982.
The Greater is one of the fastest growing building societies in the
country. It has 64 branches in NSW and South East Queensland. Another
two branches will open this month.
