The Greater Building Society has opened the first of three new branches over the next month as it continues to rapidly expand its branch network.

The new branch is at Pacific Pines on the Gold Coast. Last month it announced plans to open a new branch at Nowra in July. Another Gold Coast branch will open at Nerang in the same month.

The Pacific Pines branch is the Greater's 64th and its fourth on the Gold Coast. Other branches are also located at Burleigh Heads, Helensvale, and Robina.

Assistant general manager Don Magin says the Greater has its sights set on being a force in the South East Queensland home loan market.

"We want to give Queenslanders access to the great products, service, rewards and savings in fees that residents in regional NSW receive as customers of the Greater," Mr Magin says.

Mr Magin says that, unlike many others in the industry, the Greater is continuing to open more branches. It has opened 12 new branches in the past four years.
