Security Reminder for Internet Banking Customers

Date: 05/05/2006

Responding to bogus emails can give scammers your security details.

There have been a number of recent incidents where bogus emails have been sent from scammers pretending to represent financial institutions. These emails ask customers to confirm the details of their internet banking account, including their access code (PIN). Obtaining this information then allows these people to gain access to the customer's internet banking account.

The Greater Building Society has not been the target of these scammers, however, we would like to remind you to NOT respond to these emails. The Greater will NEVER ask you to confirm any of your secret access codes such as your internet banking log on via an unsolicited email.

If you do receive one of these bogus emails, we recommend that you forward it to fraud@greater.com.au

Yours sincerely
