Following the opening the new Greater Building Society branch, Dapto residents now have local access to a financial institution that offers outstanding service, as well as fee free savings accounts and holiday rewards for home loan borrowers.

The new branch is located in the Stage 1 redevelopment of the Dapto Shopping Mall. It is the Greater's 65^th branch in its network that spans NSW and South East Queensland.

Branch manager Steven Russell, who has lived in Dapto for 12 years, said the area is growing rapidly and he and his staff were looking forward to helping local people to realise the dream of owning their own home.

“The new branch will help us to serve existing local customers better and help us to grow our business on the South Coast,” Mr Russell said.

He said the Greater was continuing to open branches as part of its customer service strategy.

“We encourage customers to come into our branches to experience the Greater's famous service,” he said.

The Greater conducts an annual independent customer satisfaction rating and this year it was a record 96 percent, up two percent on the previous year.

The Greater is also a leader in offering innovative rewards for members including free holidays and low fees.

“Greater home loan customers get a free holiday and a transaction fee free savings account.”

The Dapto branch is the second Greater branch to open on the South Coast in the past 12 months, taking the total number of South Coast branches to seven. The Nowra branch opened in August last year. Other branches are located at Corrimal, Figtree, Shellharbour, Warrawong and Wollongong.

The establishment of the branch has created five new jobs in the area. Mr Russell has extensive experience in banking. He was previously manager of the Dapto branch of the Commonwealth Bank.
