It is official. Greater Building Society customers
have a larger, more convenient, one stop shop to cater for all of their
financial needs.
Greater
Taree Mayor Eddie Loftus today officially opened the Greater's new
Taree Branch and Loan Centre in the Manning Mall (July 3 at 10am). The
new branch opened for business on June 20.
The Greater's Loan
Centre was located in the Clarence Centre. Branch manager Annette
Sherman said the Greater acquired premises next to its Manning Mall
branch and undertook a complete renovation to create a large, modern,
more personal, centre to better meet customers' needs.
The
branch and loan centre has a private customer meeting room and is the
first branch to sport the Greater's new branch livery and colours.
Mrs
Sherman, who became branch manager in February this year, said that
having the branch and loan centre in separate locations caused some
customers inconvenience. Staff sometimes had to go between the two
centres to carry out certain transactions.
“Our customers can
now come to one central location for all their home loan, business
banking and personal banking needs,” Mrs Sherman said.
“The staff love their new premises and look forward to welcoming our existing and new customers into the branch,” she said.
“Unlike some other financial institutions the Greater encourages members to come into a branch for assistance.”
Loan
Centre manager Mark Cutbush and his staff have joined Ms Sherman in the
new premises. With 10 staff Ms Sherman said the Taree branch and loan
centre is the largest Greater branch outside of Newcastle.
“Taree
is one of the biggest and busiest branches in the Greater's network of
64 branches across NSW and South-east Queensland.”
Ms Sherman thanked customer for their patience while five weeks of renovation work took place around them.
The
Greater's first Taree branch opened in Pulteney Street in 1969. The
Manning Mall branch opened in 1985 and the Loan centre in 1998.
