The Greater Building Society and Housing Industry Association (HIA) are teaming up to offer seminars in the Hunter next month.
A
FREE, no obligation, public seminar will be held on Wednesday December
10. Bookings are essential as seats are limited. Phone: 4014 2000 or
email: hunter_events@hia.com.au to book. A seminar for HIA members is being held on Tuesday December 9.
The
seminars will provide information on applying for the First Home Owners
Grant and other supplementary benefits, the process for obtaining a
home loan, budgeting, as well as tips for saving a deposit.
Greater
Building Society chief executive Don Magin said with recent Government
incentives for first home buyers and falling interest rates, there has
never been a better time to get into the property market for the first
time.
“Buying a first home can be daunting and is not a decision to take lightly,” Mr Magin said.
“The seminars will give people all the information they need to know about buying their first home,” he said.
Up
to $24,000 is available to NSW first home buyers of new homes. The
First Home Owner Grant provides $14,000 to eligible first buyers of
existing homes. For buyers of new homes or those building homes, an
extra $7,000 is available under the Australian Government's First Home
Owner Boost and an additional $3,000 is on offer under the NSW
Government's New Home Buyers Supplement.
The
Hunter based Greater Building Society is one of the largest building
societies in Australia. It has 30 of its 65 branches in the region. HIA
is Australia's largest residential building organisation.
