Rural customers will benefit from the Greater Building Society's expansion of its mobile banking service into the New England and Northern District regions.
Virginia Irwin of Tamworth, who has more than 20 years experience in banking, heads up the new service. Ms Irwin said her role is to make banking more convenient for rural customers.
She said being able to arrange appointments at customers' homes, workplaces or even at a local coffee shop will provide additional flexibility that many rural customers are seeking from their financial institution.
“I am helping our Tamworth branch to expand its reach, taking the branch to our customers,” Ms Irwin said.
“I can help people who find it difficult to leave work or properties to come into a branch and maybe save them some fuel in the process,” she said.
“Some people need to discuss their home loan, business banking or personal banking needs in person, rather than on the phone.”
Ms Irwin said the Greater was renowned for its excellent service, achieving 96 percent customer satisfaction ratings in its annual independently conducted surveys.
“Mobile banking takes our great service one step further.”
The new mobile service covers from Tamworth to Armidale and Gunnedah to Narrabri and all towns in between. Virginia Irwin can be contacted on 0418 483 427 or call 13 13 86 to make an appointment.
Ms Irwin said that the Greater Building Society offers a complete range of financial services. She stressed her role was to assist with all services, not just lending.
The Greater offers home loans at very affordable rates. Home loan customers receive a free holiday, a fee free savings account that saves up to $240 per year in fee, a free internet redraw facility and the establishment fee (which includes the cost of valuation) is deferred. It also has a range of attractive savings and premium deposit accounts designed to help individuals and businesses save for their goals sooner.
The Greater Building Society is one of Australia's largest building societies and is a Top 500 Australian company. It has 65 branches across NSW and South East Queensland, the largest branch network of any building society in Australia.
The Greater also offer mobile banking in the Illawarra and Central Coast regions.
