Greater signs new insurance deal with Allianz

Date: 29/08/2008

The Greater Building Society (Greater) and Allianz Australia Insurance Limited (Allianz) today announced they had signed a five year contract to distribute general insurance products to Greater members.

From September 1, Allianz will be the sole supplier of all general insurance products distributed by Greater, including home and contents, motor and CTP, consumer credit insurance (CCI), travel insurance and boat insurance.

Allianz won a comprehensive and competitive tender process that involved 50 individual measurement criteria.

Greater's Business Alliance Manager Steve Goverd said having a single provider would bring administration benefits to keep premiums down as well as strengthening the already high service levels for customers.

Mr Goverd said the Greater already had an excellent working relationship with Allianz, which would continue to develop under the new arrangement.

“Working with Allianz, the Greater can offer a comprehensive range of competitive general insurance products to meet the needs of its members,” Mr Goverd said.

General Manager Corporate Affairs at Allianz Australia, Nicholas Scofield, added: “The benefit of this union is that Greater members now only need one insurance provider to help with all their insurance needs. Instead of juggling relationships with several insurers, members can enjoy quick and easy access to the full Allianz product suite, whether it be home and contents, car, CTP, boat, landlord or loan insurance.”

“In these challenging economic times, Greater members will also enjoy competitive rates and be confident that their insurance policies are with one of Australia's largest general insurance companies, which is part of the global Allianz Group, the world's largest general insurer.”
