Gold Coast woman wins trip of a lifetime to meet Jerry Seinfeld in Las Vegas

Date: 05/11/2009

A Southport woman is off to Las Vegas to meet US comedy legend Jerry Seinfeld in December thanks to the Greater Building Society and Gold Coast radio station Hot Tomato.

Louise Cousens won the trip in a competition that has been running on Hot Tomato for the past three weeks. Her name was drawn from a list of daily winners who had to correctly answer a multiple choice question about the Seinfeld series. The 37 year old says she is a huge Seinfeld fan and was “overwhelmed by the win”.

After much deliberation and numerous marriage proposals Louise finally decided to take her friend of 15 years Jenny Dell from Brisbane. Louise and Jenny will join eight other people that have won one of several competitions being supported by the Greater across regional NSW and South East Queensland.

The competition winners will be flown to Las Vegas on December 23, spend five nights in luxury accommodation at Caesars Palace, receive VIP tickets for two people to Jerry Seinfeld’s live show at Caesars Colosseum Theatre on December 26 and have a personal meeting with the US funny man after the show.

The Greater has also given Louise US$1,000 in spending money.

The Greater’s Gold Coast based head of marketing John Dwyer said people still have an opportunity to win the same trip via the Greater’s own competition, which is running until November 30. The Greater competition is open to existing and new customers who save at least $50 in an eligible Greater account.

“For every $50 you save every day in an eligible Greater account before November 30, 2009 you get one entry,” Mr Dwyer said.

“This is the trip of a lifetime to the city that never sleeps,” he said.

He said it was easy to accumulate entries each day and the longer people’s savings remain in their account, the more chances they have of winning.

“If you have $200 in your account today, you get four entries today, and then if you have $300 in your account tomorrow, you get six more entries tomorrow.”
