Applications open for first ever funding round of Greater Charitable Foundation
Applications for the first round of funding through the new Greater Charitable Foundation open today (August 8).
CEO Anne Long said the Greater Charitable Foundation had up to $1 million to fund projects that will make a long term difference to the lives of families and communities in NSW and Queensland.
She said the Foundation will be looking to fund projects or programs that have an opportunity for the involvement of Greater Building Society staff.
The Foundation can only make grants to charitable organisations with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) and Tax Concession Charity (TCC) status. Charities must be based in Australia and the projects must be taking place in Australia.
The Greater Building Society launched the Foundation last month, providing an initial allocation of $1 million to be distributed within the first year. The Greater will continue to fund the Foundation on an ongoing basis out of profits.
Applications will be determined by the Foundation’s independent six-member Board led by chairman John Kilpatrick.
Detailed funding guidelines and an application form are available from the Foundation’s website at www.greaterfoundation.org.au. Applications close September 9. The successful applicants will be announced by the end of November.
