Greater Building Society customers will have access to more than 3,100 ATMs Australia-wide, free of direct ATM charges from today, and more in the coming months says head of strategy Chris Hodgins.
Mr Hodgins said that from today Greater customers will be able to use their card at any distinctive rediATM without paying a direct ATM charge.

“The number of ATMs that are free of direct ATM charges in our current area of operations will rise by 797 or 938% thanks to our partnership with rediATM,” Mr Hodgins said.
He said that while customers will benefit from having even more convenient access to ATMs free of direct ATM charges locally, they will benefit most when travelling outside regional NSW and the Gold Coast.
“Our customers are increasingly travelling and doing business in capital cities and we want to give them more fee-free access to cash when they are in these centres,” he said.
“The expanded network is also beneficial for existing and potential customers living outside of our traditional area of operations like Brisbane and parts of Sydney.”
The Greater has just established mobile lending services in Townsville. The rediATM deal provides it with a ready-made network of 26 ATMs for new customers.
“This is all part of our Jerry Seinfeld led campaign to expand our service offering to become a big, safe alternative to the major banks.
“We are always looking to help members to avoid fees and help make accessing their money even more convenient.”
The Greater is also investing more than $300,000 this year to increase its own ATM network by 10 (11 percent).Three ATMs have been installed at Belmont, Cardiff (NSW Hunter region) and Erina (NSW Central Coast). Another four will be installed by September and another three are under negotiation.
Customers can search for ATMs via ATM locators on the Greater’s and rediATM’s websites. rediATM also has an SMS locator service and an iphone application.
