The Greater Building Society is giving more of its customers a chance to be on television, starring in a TV commercial featuring Jerry Seinfeld.
Head of marketing John Dwyer said the Greater is searching for local stars for its next round of “Ask a Greater Customer” TV commercials. The Greater will be shooting the new Jerry Seinfeld commercial segments in the US in July.
Mr Dwyer said all people have to do is submit a short video (no longer than 2 minutes) saying what is so great about being a Greater customer.
He said the commercials are part of the Greater’s campaign to show people that they are a big, safe alternative to the major banks.
“This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity – it’s not every day you get to star in a TV commercial which features a global superstar like Jerry Seinfeld,” Mr Dwyer said.
“It will be a chance for our customers to have some fun and it will be an easier way to get on TV than shows like MasterChef or Australia’s Got Talent,” he said.
“Customers won’t have to make the commercial or come up with lines for Seinfeld, he and the Greater will do that.
“They also won’t have to have experience in front of the camera, just a genuine love for the Greater.”
The Greater has featured more than 500 customers in its advertising over the past nine years.
He said that he expected to get lots of entries given the Greater has a customer satisfaction rating of 96%, one of the highest in the world.
