The Greater Building Society has boosted its product offering to take on the major banks by launching a new fee-free savings account.
Product manager David Bryde says the Ultimate Access Account offers no monthly account keeping fees and, if at least $2000 a month is deposited into the account, no transaction fees.
Mr Bryde says that if people earn more than $500 per week, all they need to do is have their pay deposited into the account and they can enjoy transaction fee-free banking.
“We expect this account will be very appealing to bank customers who currently pay monthly fees or transaction fees on their everyday account,” Mr Bryde says.
“With the Greater’s Ultimate Access Account you do not have to maintain a minimum balance to avoid fees and there are no minimum withdrawal requirements,” he says.
“Thanks to our partnership with rediATM, customers also have access to their money from around 3,200 ATMS across Australia, free of direct charges.”
“At the Greater we are always finding ways to help our members avoid fees.”
To celebrate the launch of the account, every customer who opens this account between July 1, 2010 and 30 November, 2010 and meets the minimum $2,000 per month deposit requirement, will automatically go into the draw for a chance to win $250,000.
