The Greater Building Society is set to open its new Wallsend branch to replace the one in Nelson Street that it was forced to close in March.

The new branch in the Stockland Shopping Centre Wallsend, facing Wallsend Park, will open its doors on Monday, the 20th of June.

Regional manager Kevin Buckley thanked customers for their patience whilst the Greater built the new branch.

“The good news is that we now have a larger, more modern branch from which to serve our valued Wallsend customers,” Mr Buckley said.

He said whilst the ATM at the old branch in Nelson Street will no longer operate, the new branch will have an ATM in addition to the Greater ATM located in the centre, just outside Coles. Greater customers also have access to a rediATM in the centre along with two rediATMs in Thomas Street, free of direct charge fees.

“Greater Building Society is committed to providing its financial products and superior customer service to the Wallsend community and we have worked as quickly as possible to get this new branch open for our customers,” he said.
