Work starts on refurbishment of Armidale Branch

Date: 12/07/2011

Work has commenced on a major refurbishment of the Greater Building Society’s Armidale branch.

Branch manager Rex Gream said the works will provide far better customer and staff amenities including new sit down service and meeting areas.

Mr Gream said that a more modern branch was just one of the benefits to members following the Greater’s recent merger with ABS Building Society.

He said the branch’s first ATM was also installed at the end of June, taking the total number of Greater ATMs to 98.

“Greater Building Society customers have have their own ATM in Armidale in addition to enjoying direct fee free access to more than 3500 rediATMs across Australia including five in Armidale and one in Guyra,” Mr Gream said.

“The branch refurbishment is part of the Greater’s commitment to providing the people of Armidale and surrounding areas with award winning, competitive financial services and outstanding service from modern facilities,” he said.

ABS Building Society members overwhelmingly voted to merge with the Greater at a meeting on April 20 with 97% approving the merger. The two societies officially merged on May 2.

The Greater Building Society was named Australia’s Building Society of the Year in the June Australian Banking and Finance Awards and is also the current AFR Smart Investor Awards and Mozo People’s Choice Awards Building Society of the Year.
