Branch Customer Service
We have an extensive branch network including locations within Newcastle, Hunter Valley, Mid-North Coast, Central Coast, Sydney, South East Queensland, Illawarra / Shoalhaven and Central West / New England regions. Within our branches the following key positions ensure our customers receive a superior level of service.
Member Sevice Officer
Member Service Officers provide total quality customer service and assist in the attainment of budgeted branch growth via the appropriate identification of member needs and requirements. This frontline role is vital to ensure our customers receive a friendly personalised service. Our Member Service Officers assist with a range of services from simple deposits and withdrawals to aligning the needs of individual customers to the diverse range of products and services the Greater has to offer.
Our Casual Relief Team
At the Greater Building Society our Casual Relief Team provides ongoing support to our various branches, covering for sick, annual, long service and miscellaneous leave. This role offers flexible working hours, working within your local area and the opportunity to converse with a wide range of people. Ideally we seek candidates who are flexible, reliable and will relish the opportunity to connect with our valued customers.
Ideally candidates on our Casual Relief Team will be available at least 3 days a week plus every second Saturday. It is essential that applicants have a valid driver’s licence and their own transport. Please note that this is a casual role and regular weekly hours cannot be guaranteed. Branch Lending & Management
Branch Supervisor
Branch Supervisors lead, coach and mentor the frontline branch staff to ensure an efficient and effective work environment is maintained. The Branch Supervisor also plays an active role to assist the Branch Manager in the attainment of branch strategies with particular emphasis on the functional area of lending and business development.
Branch Manager
Branch Managers ensure the efficient and effective operation of the branch to ensure the Greater maximises the growth and potential of the branch. The Branch Manager plays a key role in the lending, business development and leadership to coach and mentor the frontline staff.

Loans Department
Our centralised Loan processing department is responsible to ensure customer loans are assessed and processed within the required timeframes. Within the department we have various full time and part time positions in loan processing, contracts, loans administration, settlements and securities.

Information Technology
Our Information Technology Department consists of the following functional areas and assists to allow the organisation to provide fast and efficient services to our customers.
IT Support Helpdesk
IT Support Technicians are on hand to support our employees with any hardware, software enquiries as well as the roll out of new software, hardware and related systems.
Programming & Analysis
Programming and Analysis design new and maintain existing financial and informational software applications thus enabling the greater to provide efficient services to internal stakeholders and Greater customers.
IT Infrastructure
IT infrastructure ensure the efficient and effective management of Greater IT systems, assess existing architecture, prepare specifications and test for new designs, as well as data protection and backup.

Call Centre
Our state of the art call centre assists customers with a wide range of enquiries to ensure that our customers speak to a 'real person' who can answer their questions and provide practical solutions. The Call Centre is made up of the following functional areas:
Inbound Customer Service
Customer Service Consultants assist our customers with any enquiry ranging from internet and phone banking to specific product information ensuring their needs are met in a timely manner. Our Customer Service Consultants also act as a help line for Branch employees.
Inbound Loan Assistance
Loan Consultants assist our customers with any query relating to a new or existing loan and are able to complete an initial assessment over the phone or can arrange an appointment with a Branch Manager or Mobile Lender.
Business Retention Outbound
Business Retention communicate directly with our customers via phone to seek their feedback in relation to the services provided by the Greater as well as support current customers with loan products. The feedback obtained serves as an important tool in our continual improvement philosophy.
Insurances
The Greater provides a range of competitive insurance products via Western QBE and Allianz. Our Insurance officers take inbound enquiries and also contact our customers directly to discuss the competitive products on offer.

Marketing and Advertising coordinate public relations, press and media advertising, brand image, marketing campaigns and associated analysis, and liaise closely with our community partners.

Finance & Accounting
Our Finance Department consists of the following functional areas;
Transactional Services
This area consists of card services, cheque processing and payment processing and ensures smooth processing of back office banking functions to ensure our customers receive a fast and effective service in their everyday banking needs.
Accounting
Our Accountants provide information relating to strategic planning, management reporting and ensure the Greater meets our statutory reporting requirements, supported by our clerical employees responsible for accounts payable and reconciliation.

Human Resources
Human Resources provides a key service in relation to attracting and retaining quality people, managing and enhancing the workplace environment as well as providing strategic direction to support each Department within the organisation. Human Resources consists of the following functional areas;
Learning & Development
Learning & Development assist our employees by providing a range of customised development programs to assist the organisation and its employees to reach their full potential and attain their career goals.
General Human Resources
Our generalist Human Resources Team covers a broad spectrum of areas including, recruitment, industrial relations, OHS, employee performance, incentives and strategic planning.
Payroll
Payroll manages a weekly payroll for over 700 employees and provides advice and assistance relating to employee entitlements.

Traineeships
Each year the Greater offers 2 year Certificate III in Financial Services Traineeships across the branch network. The Traineeships offer the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification via distance education through the Institute of Financial Services, whilst also getting solid practical experience. A number of our trainees have moved onto various areas of the organisation post completion of their Traineeship.
