Documents required when applying for a loan
To apply for a loan you will be required to provide us with the following documents as a minimum:
Identification
Category 1
One of the following documents:
- Drivers License
- Passport/International Travel Document
- Proof of Age Card/Birth Card from Births, Deaths & Marriages (includes photo and signature)
Or a combination of a Category 2 plus a Category 3 document
Category 2
- Birth Certificate or Extract
- Citizenship Certificate
- Pension Card
Category 3
- Government Financial Benefits Notice
- Australian Taxation Office Notice
- Local Government or Utility Notice
Proof of Income
Wage and Salary earners
- The most recent Statement of Earnings or Tax Assessment Notice plus one of the following:
- A payslip that is no more than 4 weeks old covering at least 2 pay periods (e.g. Year to Date) or where the payslip does not provide the required two pay periods, a minimum of 2 current consecutive payslips
- A current letter from your employer on their letterhead & signed stating your gross income, length of employment and employment status together with your most recent Statement of Earnings from that employer.
- Where overtime or allowances are included in your regular income, confirmation that it has been consistent for at least 6 months (e.g. Latest Statement of Earnings or Current YTD figure)
- If employed on a casual, seasonal or short term contract (less than 12 months) confirmation that income is consistent (e.g. Latest Statement of Earnings or Current YTD figure)
Self Employed Applicants
- Personal tax returns plus your business entity's tax returns, financial statements and the corresponding Statement of Earnings (Tax Assessment Notice) for the 2 most recent financial years
Family Tax Benefit
- Statement of income/letter from Centrelink, no more than 4 weeks old, showing the type of benefit received and the information used by Centrelink to calculate the payment
Child Support
- A copy of your latest assessment form provided by the Child Support Agency and 6 months payments evidenced via savings statements
Rental Income*
- A current letter or statement from the Managing Real Estate Agent OR
- A current letter from a real estate agent stating a fair and reasonable rental estimate OR
- Latest taxation evidence of rent currently being earned (must be less than 12 months old)
* Where income is received for a serviced apartment or a holiday rental, evidence must cover the last 12 months
Evidence of Current Loans
- Documents confirming that any loans you currently have are up to date (e.g. recent statements showing name, account number, monthly repayment, credits, debits & loan balance)
- Most recent statement for credit/store cards and interest free loans
Assets
- Real Estate - Land Rates Notice, Water Rates Notice or Title Deed
- Motor Vehicles - Registration Papers or receipt of recent purchase
- Savings or Shares - Copy of the latest statement or Holding Certificate
- Superannuation - Confirmation of any unrestricted non-preserved portion
Residential Status
- Home Owner/Buyer - Copy of latest Land Rates Notice, Water Rates Notice or Title Deed
- Home Renter - Evidence of the total amount of rent and that it is paid up to date (e.g. copy of rent receipt)
- Boarder - Letter from parent or guardian confirming residency status
Refinance and Consolidation Loans
- Statements for the last 6 months for home loans being refinanced
- Statements for the last 3mths for personal/consumer loans
- Most recent statement for credit/store cards and interest free loans
- Evidence that council rates, water rates and body corporate levies (if applicable) are paid up to date
- A current House Insurance Policy (if your home is being used to secure the loan)
- A copy of your previous loan contract or facility agreement (if you are claiming a stamp duty exemption on a mortgage loan)
Property Purchases
- Evidence of your deposit
- 6 months of savings account statements or
- Proceeds of sale letter from your Solicitor or
- A statutory declaration for any gifts being provided to you
- A certified copy of the contract for sale
Construction Loans
- Copy of fixed price building contract
- Council approved plans and specifications
Home Improvements
- Quotes for any work being completed
- Copy of quotes and council approved plans of any structural improvements (e.g. adding to existing home or erecting a garage)
New Boat, Caravan or Motor Cycle, New or Used Car Loans
Private Purchases (Cars Only)
- Current registration papers
- Vehicle inspection certificate required for loans in excess of $60,000
Dealer Purchases
If You Already Own the Car
- Current registration papers
- Comprehensive insurance policy
