SMS and Email Alerts

SMS and Email alerts allow you to receive information about your account automatically, helping you to monitor your accounts.

How it works

To set up SMS and email alerts members can call The Greater's Customer Service Centre on 1300 651 400 or visit their nearest Greater Branch. You can now maintain these alerts within Internet Banking within the "Alerts" panel.

Members will be given the opportunity to nominate a start date and end date for their SMS and email alerts. If no end date is nominated, the service will continue until you advise otherwise.

You may choose to receive most alerts via SMS ($0.20 per alert) or Email (free to all members). Cheque Dishonour Alerts may only be sent via SMS ($10.00 per alert). 

If your account is a Greater transaction fee free account, your SMS alerts (with the exception of Cheque Dishonour Alerts) will be free.

Choose from seven different types of alerts:

  • Balance Alert – get the balance on your account either daily/weekly/fortnightly/monthly at 8:00am in the morning on your chosen day.*
  • High Balance Alert – be advised when your account has reached a pre-determined amount.*
  • Low Balance Alert – be advised when your account has fallen to a pre-determined limit.*
  • Deposit Alert – be advised when an amount is deposited into your account.*
  • Withdrawal Alert – be advised when a withdrawal is made from your account.*
  • Direct Credit Alert - keep track of when your salary goes into your account or any other regular payment that is deposited into your nominated account by direct credit.*
  • Cheque Dishonour Warning: You will be notified when funds are required in your account by 2:00pm in order for a cheque to be honoured. Please note that if you do not deposit funds to cover the presenting cheque/s, a dishonour fee will be applied to your account in place of the corresponding notification fee. Our schedule of fees and charges are set out in our Terms and Conditions Part 2. To the extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for alerts sent by us to the contact numbers provided and not received by you.

*If no pre-determined limit is set, alerts will be received on all transactions made on the selected account. Transactions that occur after 11:00pm and before 06:00am will be sent at 08:00am the next day.
