SMS and Email alerts allow you to receive information about your account automatically, helping you monitor your accounts 24/7.

So why not take advantage of today’s technology and keep yourself informed of the status of your accounts?

Choose from six different types of alerts.

  • Balance Alert – get the balance on your account either daily/weekly/fortnightly/monthly at 8:00am in the morning on your chosen day.#
  • High Balance Alert – be advised when your account has reached a pre-determined amount.#
  • Low Balance Alert – be advised when your account has fallen to a pre-determined limit. #
  • Deposit Alert – be alerted when an amount is deposited into your account. #
  • Withdrawal Alert – have peace of mind knowing that a repayment has been made from your account. #
  • Direct Credit Alert - keep track of when your salary goes into your account or any other regular payment that is deposited into your nominated account by direct credit. #

What are SMS and Email Alerts?

SMS and Email Alerts allow you to request specific information on an account regarding account balances, deposits and withdrawals, high and low balances and direct credit. Refer to the above list of alerts that you can receive.

How do I register for SMS and Email Alerts?

You can register for SMS and/or Email alerts by visiting any Greater branch or by phoning our Customer Service Centre on 1300 651 400.

How much does it cost?

SMS Alerts are 0.20c each. If your account is a transaction fee free account your SMS alerts will be free, while you have a loan linked to the account which the SMS alerts are being generated for.

Email Alerts are free to all members.

Do I need to be registered for Internet or Phone Banking?

No. As long as you have an account with the Greater that is eligible for SMS and Email alerts you can register to receive them.

Can I change my Alerts at any time?

Yes, members will be given the opportunity to nominate a start date and end date for their SMS and Email Alerts. If no end date is nominated, the service will continue until you advise us otherwise.

When will you receive the Alerts?

Depending on the type of Alert you select, the delivery time varies.

  • Balance Alert – will be sent at approximately 08:00am.
  • High Balance Alert – will be sent when a transaction that occurs on this account triggers the alert*.
  • Low Balance Alert - will be sent when a transaction that occurs on this account triggers the alert*.
  • Deposit Alert - will be sent when a transaction that occurs on this account triggers the alert*.
  • Withdrawal Alert - will be sent when a transaction that occurs on this account triggers the alert*.
  • Direct Credit Alert - will be sent when a transaction that occurs on this account triggers the alert*.

* Transactions that occur after 11:00pm and before 06:00am will be sent at 08:00am the next day.
