Wallsend Park, Wallsend

A number of trees on the western side of Wallsend Park are mature in age. This project plants approximately 80 new successional park trees donated by Greater Bank to combat urban heat into the future.

Wallsend Park Status: COMPLETED

Newcastle is projected to become hotter and drier in the future so new trees were needed that will be suitable for a future climate and to ensure our city is liveable. This planting aimed to provide shade and increased community wellbeing.
