New technology makes online account opening faster and easier

New online idenitity checking technology makes applying for online accounts even faster and easier explains our Chief Information Officer, Bruce White.

New Greater customers can now open a Bonus Saver On-Line or Term Investment On-Line account entirely via the Greater’s website. The Greater is using the latest technology to instantly verify people’s identity when they apply, removing the need for customers to have to send in or present any documentation at a branch or wait for processing.

The Greater continues to be at the forefront of the use of safe and secure technology to help customers to manage all of their financial needs with the Greater. From our website and very user friendly Internet and Mobile banking service through to our Live Chat service, Twitter and this blog site, the Greater is investing in systems to make banking with us even better.

Verifying your identity online works by having customer’s personal information checked against databases from organisations such as the Electoral Commissions, Australian Taxation Office and Medicare Australia.

The process, GreenID, is completely safe and secure and maintains customer’s privacy. It is the brainchild of the professional services giant, Deloitte Australia, international identification services expert, Global Data Company, and Australian electronic identification systems pioneer, Edentiti.
