Green Hills Branch Manager, Annette Sherman, tells how one of her customers won $5,000 in a national competiton when they purchased a Cash Passport.
Patrick Lynch and his partner Christie Hettiger will now be sky diving in Hawaii and taking a chopper over Las Vegas after winning $5,000 in a national competition courtesy of Cash Passport.
The couple, from East Maitland, are heading to New York this Saturday for the wedding of a long-time Newcastle-based friend of Mr Lynch’s who has decided to get married in the Big Apple.
They bought a cash passport to help him to manage the spending money for their six week, first ever, trip to the United States where they will also visit Chicago, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego and Hawaii. Anyone in Australia who purchased a multi-currency passport or reloaded their existing passport with at least $1,000 in July or August automatically went into the draw to win.
Mr Lynch said the Cash Passport appealed to him because it could be used everywhere and was a contained account if he lost it. He felt it was safer than just using his partner’s or his credit cards or savings accounts.
Single currency and multi-currency cash passports are a safe, secure and convenient travel money option, and are becoming increasingly popular. The travel card is preloaded with up to seven different currencies and can be used online, in store or to withdraw cash in local currencies without internal ATM and EFTPOS fees.
Mr Lynch was excited and completely surprised when I broke the news of his win. He said the win gives him “some extra coin” for he and his partner to now splurge a little on the trip.
“We wanted to take a helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas at sunset and go sky diving in Hawaii but I didn’t think I’d be able to afford to do it,” Mr Lynch said.
Mr Lynch, 29, is a machine operator for Bulga Coal and has been a Greater customer for 10 years.
