Our Illawarra Regional manager Greg Creagan says it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas now the Greater/KidzWish tree has been installed outside the WIN Entertainment Centre.
I love Christmas. As a dad of young children Christmas has again become an even more special time for me. I don’t know about you, but this year has been racing by, and it doesn’t seem like Christmas should be just over five weeks away.
It did start to seem like Christmas last week when the boys from Fire and Rescue NSW kindly installed the Greater/KidzWish Christmas the outside WIN Entertainment Centre. Here are some photos of the tree being installed.
The nine metre tree is the largest in the Illawarra. The other special thing about this tree is that each of its 3,500 lights represents on of the sick, disabled and disadvantaged children that will be attending the 2012 Stockland KidzWish Christmas Party on Thursday November 22. The lights will be turned on during the KidzWish Charity Ball on November 23 and burn brightly until Santa arrives.
This is the third year the Greater Building Society has funded the installation of the tree. We hope the Greater/KidzWish Christmas Tree brings some festive cheer to the people of the Illawarra and shines a light on the great work being done by KidzWish to support some really special kids in the Illawarra.
Christmas is the time for giving. If you can help KidzWish out in some way now or next year, you will be helping to makes the lives of local kids and their families better. For more information about the great work Kidzwish does, please visit www.kidzwishfoundation.org.au or call 1300 260 990.
From everyone at The Greater’s six Illawarra branches (Wollongong, Corrimal, Dapto Figtree, Shellharbour and Warrawong) and our branch at Nowra, Merry Christmas to you and your family.
