Our Wollongong Branch Manager Gary Luck helped spread some Christmas cheer to kids at Wollongong Hospital.
I had the great pleasure of joining the KidzWish Fairy and KidzWish Founder and Executive Director Chris Beaven in a surprise visit to Wollongong Hospital Children’s Ward on Friday (14 December).
Chris and I handed out Christmas presents while The KidzWish Fairy sang Christmas Carols. She has a far better voice than me.
The team at KidzWish do a fantastic job to bring some joy, laughter and support to sick and disadvantaged kids in the Illawarra.
That's why the Greater Building Society provided the toys for the KidzWish Hospital visit for a second year. By supporting this hospital visit and the nine metre Greater/KidzWish Christmas tree shining brightly outside the WIN Entertainment Centre, the staff at our seven Illawarra and South Coast branches hope to bring some Christmas cheer to the people of Wollongong and the Illawarra.
The Greater was also the major sponsor of the search for this year’s KidzWish Fairy competition for a second year.
That's not the only way we are helping KidzWish and Illawarra families. Through our Greater Charitable Foundation, we are also supporting KidzWish’s Australian first mobile speech therapy service for preschool children. And our staff, like Ivana Pejovska, Lorraine Erskine, Linda Munkman and Catherine Marskell are volunteering to help KidzWish to deliver that service (read Ivana's blog) as well as supporting the annual KidzWish Ball and KidzWish Stockland Christmas Party.
Helping KidzWish is another way we try to make life Greater for people in the Illawarra.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
