Wearing Red Threads for the Salvos

Greater Building Society Lambton Branch Manager Daniel Jones donned his red threads today and got other businesses and the local primary school to join him in supporting Red Threads Day for the Salvos.

Greater staff were joined by local businesses in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie region of NSW in donning red threads today on the eve of the Salvation Army's Red Shield Appeal.

Thanks to the many local businesses who joined to turn Elder Street Lambton red and had some fun for such a great cause. We also had the kids from Lambton Public School come down with their teachers, parents and carers to sing in support of the Salvos. You did a great job kids.

Over in nearby Hamilton our head office is lit up red at night in support of the Salvos. Owner of Lotus Fashions, Kellie Mann, wins my award for going to the most effort to get behind the campaign. She put her friend Catherine's red Vespa in the window. Catherine spent some time in the window in the Vespa too.

Greater Building Society headquarters lit up red to support Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal

Thanks to all the businesses everywhere who took part inRed Threads Day. If you didn't take part it is not too late to support the Red Shield Appeal. You can make a donation at any Greater Building Society branch or via the Salvation Army website. Greater staff will be joining thousands of door knocking volunteers this weekend so please did deep if a door knocker comes to your place. It is for a good a cause.

Thank God for the Salvos, who do such great work to support people in our community.

As accountant's we are thrilled to see the Greater come on board with bank feeds. You're spot on Greg that timely information really helps business owners and their accountants make better decisions. The automatic bank feed set up by the Greater is fantastic. Thanks for supporting your customers in this way.

You're right, John. 4.99% is a very low rate in comparison to where rates been historically. Right now we're offering the lowest one year rate in Australia at 4.54%. Insurance is a smart thing to take out on your loan regardless of whether it's at a fixed or variable rate. As well as life insurance we can help arrange insurance that helps repay your loan in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

I have noticed that a number of financial institutions are offering 4.99%. I would be taking some of this as I cant see it getting any better than that. And don't forget life insurance to cover your loved ones in the case of a tragedy.
