The Greater has always been known for its outstanding levels of customer service and product knowledge. But with the banking landscape changing, and more and more customers utilising digital channels, we’ve developed a range of videos (with more in the pipeline) designed to answer some commonly asked questions and provide a Greater way of banking. Greater Online Channel Manager Jason Byrne explains.
It’s one thing to be awarded Building Society of the Year for 2013, and another to be labelled Australia's Most Loved Banking Organisation. The Greater’s customer service is renowned as being among the best in Australia, but we felt it was important for us not to simply rely on the services being provided by our fantastic branch and call centre staff.
In an age where so many of us aren’t able to bank during normal business hours, more and more Australians are taking the first step on their banking journey via digital channels. Who among us hasn’t started researching something on their mobile on the bus, only to pick up where we left off on the PC at work or lounging at home with the tablet later in the day?
The one thing that provides fast access to information that is easily absorbed across any device is video. So we looked at some of our most commonly asked questions, and decided to make a range of videos to provide the answers our customers were after.
Initially, there are 8 videos, with more to be rolled out in the coming months, and their new home on the Greater’s website is our video hub – A Greater Way of Banking. Customers will also be able to access these videos on specific product pages and on our YouTube channel.

Getting the best Home Loan: Another problem we have faced was customers and potential customers being able to differentiate between the great value home loan options The Greater provides. This quick video gives a run-down of the key features and benefits of each loan.
What is Customer Owned Banking?: Our customers and potential customers may be aware of us for our great value and exceptional service, but we wanted to make it more widely known that banking with a Customer Owned Organisation has many benefits for both the community and the individual.
