Greater helps Pepper Tree Wines showcase its customer service

Hunter Valley - based winemaker Pepper Tree Wines has taken out this year’s Hunter Business Award for Customer Satisfaction (under 20 employees).

The Greater’s Head of Marketing Matthew Hingston presented the award at a gala function attended by more than 500 Hunter business people on Friday.

In other key awards, Tomago based medical and industrial cleaning manufacturer CEO Greg Whiteley was named Hunter Business leader of the Year, engineering company Varley Group took out the President’s Award and Ben Hainsworth of Beilby OPRA Organisational Consulting won Young Business Executive of the Year.

NRMA president and founder and owner of Hunter-based Auto Advantage Kyle Loades was made a Life Member of the Hunter Business Chamber.

Mr Hingston said The Greater had sponsored the small business customer service award since its inception two years ago to give back to the business community and promote the importance of customer service in business.

He congratulated Pepper Tree on its customer focus and success in taking the company and Hunter winemaking to Australia and beyond.

“As a customer owned banking organisation, providing outstanding customer service is at the heart of what we do,” Mr Hingston said.

The Greater has won the Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction Award for best building society 18 months in a row achieving satisfaction levels of up to 97%. It won the 2012 Hunter Business Award for Customer Service.

The Pepper Tree winery was founded in Pokolbin in 1991. It is part of a quality food, wine and accommodation triumvirate comprising Peppers Convent Guesthouse, Roberts Restaurant and Pepper Tree Wines. It produces premium varietal wines sourced from its own vineyards in the Hunter, Orange, Coonawarra and Wrattonbully regions for sale at its cellar door, specialty stores and fine restaurants throughout Australia and selected international markets. It has also branched out into hand roasting coffee at its cellar door to enhance the customer experience.

The Hunter Business Awards are presented by the Hunter Business Chamber and are recognised as the premier business awards in regional Australia.
