The Greater Building Society has today announced it has put in place disaster relief measures to help its customers who may be adversely impacted by the current storms.
CEO Scott Morgan said the measures include:
• access to funds in term deposits without impacting the interest rate payable
• allowing customers to redraw funds from applicable home loan at a branch or online without fees (customers are already able to redraw fee free via internet banking)
• negotiating changes to scheduled loan repayments.
He said the measures apply to all impacted customers across the Greater’s area of operations including the Hunter, Central Coast, Sydney, mid North Coast and Illawarra.
“Customers who need assistance should call into one of our branches or our Customer Service Centre on 1300 651 400,” Mr Morgan said.
Mr Morgan also asked customers who have property or motor vehicle insurance through the Greater and need to make a claim as a result of the storms to notify its insurance partner Allianz as soon as possible by visiting www.allianzclaims.com.au or by calling the claims line on 1300 555 030.
“Our thoughts are with our customers and staff who have been impacted by these terrible storms as well as the brave emergency service workers who are helping them,” he said.
“We are here to help in whatever way we can.”
The Greater closed a number of branches in the Hunter, Central Coast, Sydney and Illawarra during the height of the storms for the safety of staff and customers. It is re-opening branches as soon as practical and safe. Greater mobile banking, internet banking, phone banking and the customer service centre remain fully operational to assist customers with their banking needs. The ATM network is operational except where there are power issues.
