Greater Building Society Shellharbour branch manager Brendan White is one of more than 40 volunteers that are getting behind KidzWish Day (#KIDZWISHDAY) on July 2 to raise much needed funds to help sick, disabled and disadvantaged kids in the Illawarra.
KidzWish Day is being held at Stockland Shellharbour. Brendan and other Greater colleagues will be helping out at the various sites around the centre where donations are being collected.
Brendan said there will be children’s entertainment and other activities during the day making a visit a good school holiday activity that also makes a difference to the community. There will be super wrestling heroes, martial arts demonstrations, dancing routines and a magician. The KidzWish Fairy and St George Illawarra Dragon will make a special appearance.
He encouraged people to also call in to the Greater’s branch or the customer service desk to buy a $5, $10, $20 leaf for the KidzWish Giving Tree, located in the shopping centre. The Greater, KidzWish and Stockland are hoping to raise $35,000 for the KidzWish Love and Laughter Appeals Program.
“People, particularly business people, who can’t make it to KidzWish Day can also buy a leaf at any of the Greater Building Society's South Coast branches or online at the KidzWish website,” Brendan said.
KidzWish Day runs from 9am to 7pm.
KidzWish Executive Director Chris Beaven thanked the “Orange Army of Volunteers” for their help in raising funds which will remain in the Illawarra for the benefit of KidzWish kids and their families.
