Captain Starlight is making a final visit for the year to two New England hospitals this week to bring some Christmas cheer to sick kids and their families.
The visits are a diversional therapy program. Captain Starlight will be doing some Christmas themed fun activities such as face painting, singing, craft and balloon animal making to help kids take their minds off being in hospital.
New funding from the Greater Charitable Foundation in July has means that Captain Starlight has been able to continue to make regular visits to the region, as well as five other hospitals in regional NSW.
In addition to providing funding, the Foundation arranges for Greater Building Society staff members to help Captain Starlight at the visits. Joining Captain Starlight this time in Armidale will be local branch manager Wendy Ng and customer service officer Bek McFarlane. In Tamworth, local branch manager Mitch Balderston will take customer service officer Joseph Coppola for Joseph’s first visit to help Captain Starlight.
The Greater Charitable Foundation is funded through the profits of the Greater Building Society.
