Don’t be hard on yourself and keep persevering to achieve your dreams was the inspirational message The Greater’s Armidale branch manager Wendy Ng received listening to NBN Television Newsreader Natasha Beyersdorf today (Thursday) at the first New England Enterprising Womens Breakfast for 2016.
Natasha shared her own story of aiming high and succeeding in the competitive media industry.
Raised in Armidale, Natasha began her career some 20 years ago, with various roles in radio and television news. She joined NBN in 2001 reporting news. For most of the past decade she has brought the people of the Central Coast, Hunter, New England, mid North Coast, North Coast and Gold Coast regions the news each weekday. When not at work, Natasha is busy with two growing children.
The Greater Building Society is the major sponsor of the women only breakfast series, held monthly in Armidale.
In her votes of thanks to Natasha, Wendy said The Greater worked with the Armidale Business Chamber to give local women an opportunity to network and support one another.
As a fellow working mum she said Natasha is a great example of how to combine your dream job and motherhood, especially the advice about having your own goals and not being too hard on yourself.
“Supporting these breakfasts is another way The Greater is helping make our community stronger and more successful,” Wendy said.
Armidale Business Chamber CEO Tracy Pendergast encouraged more New England women to attend the breakfasts. Tracy said the breakfasts provide women with inspiration, motivation, professional development and business resources in a fun and supportive environment.
“Great stuff happens when New England Enterprising Women get together to inspire and support each other - come join us,” Tracy said.
