Drought Angels

Greater Bank, along with its employees and customers, raised more than $100,000 in 2018 to help farming families across the drought affected areas in which we operate who continue to battle with the ongoing reality caused by one of the worst droughts on record.

We partnered with Drought Angels who assist farming families with both financial and wellbeing support, to ensure our sizeable contribution goes to assisting farming families where the need is greatest.

Flanno for a Farmer

As a customer owned bank that seeks to genuinely help its customers and communities, we asked - ‘What can we do to support Aussie famers in the grip of one of the worst droughts on record?’

The answer – Flanno for a Farmer!

Employees were encouraged to wear their 'flanno' to work on Friday 14 September and make a minimum $5 donation.

All funds raised have gone towards Drought Angels’ - Rural Day Off (RDO) program where farming families are invited to enjoy a day off their property. Families are treated to home cooked meals, entertainment and the opportunity to socialise. Each family receives a rural goody bag and can make use of hairdressers, masseurs and beauticians.

Employee Volunteering

Support from our employees goes above and beyond their financial contributions, with many pledging their time to volunteer with Drought Angels over the coming months as they work to allocate our funds and ensure farmers receive the help they need.
