Central Coast people attending this year’s Mingara Christmas Under the Stars on December 18 will also be helping young people in the region.
Organisers are hoping around 20,000 people are expected to attend the Coast’s largest Carols event. Entertaining the crowd will be Timomatic and Fletcher Pilon, Gina Jeffreys, Channel 7's Erica Davis, Max Jackson, Dance @ Nikki Webster. There will be special visits from Paw Patrol and Santa Claus. The event will be hosted by Bree and Gawndy from 101.3 SeaFM.
Proceeds from the event will go to The Salvation Army’s Oasis Youth Centre at Wyong and the Berkeley Vale Primary School library project.
The event is sponsored by Greater Bank for the sixth year in a row. Local Greater Bank staff are volunteering to sell candles and glow sticks on the night to raise further funds.
Greater Bank Tuggerah branch manager Faith Morgan said Mingara Christmas Under the Stars is a great family event and fun for all ages. She encouraged those attending to share their pictures of the night on social media using the hashtag #GreaterChristmas.
“Grab family and friends, a blanket and come and have fun waving your candles and glow sticks and singing your heart out,” Ms Morgan said.
“ Greater Bank supports this fantastic event because it is all about community coming together, having fun and supporting others,” she said.
Tickets are still available from the Mingara Welcome Desk or any Greater Bank Central Coast branch. Tickets cost $5 for adults and children 12 years and under are free. People who purchase tickets beforehand from Greater Bank also go in the draw to win a $500 Greater savings account.
Last year’s Carols raised more than $16,000 for the Youth Centre’s pop up cafe project to help train local people.
