The Newcastle Italian Film Festival celebrated its eighth successful year in November 2018 and proved its place as a highly anticipated event on the region’s cultural calendar.
Greater Bank was once again a major sponsor of the event, presented by Hand in Hand Art House at Newcastle’s Tower Cinemas.
Over three consecutive nights, it featured seven contemporary Italian films of varied genres, as well as the Academy Award-nominated classic ‘Life Is Beautiful’ starring Roberto Benigni.
With the help of our support, the event raised a total of $14,000 for Motor Neurone Disease Association NSW. Since 2010, the festival has raised over $90,000 for the charity partner.
Despite the unfortunate news of Tower Cinema’s closing down in December, the Italian Film Festival will continue in 2019 at it’s new home - Event Cinemas Kotara.
