It has been a year like no other. 2020 has challenged us all like never before, but also given us the opportunity to reset and refocus our priorities.
Before the curtain comes down on the year, we caught up with some of our Branch Managers in your region to reflect on the challenges of 2020 and what they are looking forward to across the Christmas and New Year period.
ERINA: Branch Manager - Cath Owens
“Ensuring our customers feel safe and comfortable during difficult and unprecedented times was our greatest challenge in 2020.
We all faced some really tough periods, but together we put on a brave face, supported each other, adapted to changes and overcame the unexpected circumstances no one could have ever predicted.
For all of us at Erina, 2021 is seen as a fresh start. We look forward to moving forward, adapting to the new normal, and, hopefully, some overseas holidays.”
LAKE HAVEN: Branch Manager - Greg Hancock
“I’m extremely proud of the way our team continued to manage and overcome the challenges that were thrown at us this year.
Helping customers to adapt and keeping the branch open during the height of the lockdown were, in reflection, highlights for me.
We’re all looking forward to celebrating the festive season, and hope that a COVID-19 vaccine can be developed sooner rather than later.”
TOUKLEY: Branch Manager – Sharon Sutherland
“COVID-19 changed the way we all live. One of the most significant challenges though was social distancing and implementing this in our branch.
It’s important to focus on the positives that the year provided us, and for the team at Toukley it was the opportunity to spend more time with our immediate families. It also gave us the chance reset and refocus on the people and priorities that are important to us.
We are really looking forward to the New Year, and hopefully the chance to catch up with family and friends we haven’t been able to see over the last 12 months.”
TUGGERAH: Branch Manager - Kirralee Andrews
“We pride ourselves at Tuggerah on providing great customer service. How we do that was certainly challenged this year. Restricting the number of customers in branch, completing COVID forms, no handshakes and keeping distanced became the ‘new normal’. But we adapted and made it work for each other, and more importantly for our customers.
Despite the challenges, the year had some positives. We were forced to slow down and take time to smell the roses, spend more time with our loved ones and remember to never take our freedom for granted.
It’s been a massive year that has prepared us for anything that 2021 throws at us.
WOY WOY: Branch Manager - Darryl Long
“We are so thankful for the supports that were provided early in the pandemic for our team and our customers. It equipped us well to manage the risks and ensure our people came through the year virtually unscathed.
There is no doubt that life is a little different, but we all feel stronger for the experience and far more aware of our surrounds.
The Woy Woy team is looking forward to traveling freely around Australia again in 2021. It’s certainly something we will never take for granted again.”
