It has been a year like no other. 2020 has challenged us all like never before, but also given us the opportunity to reset and refocus our priorities.
Before the curtain comes down on the year, we caught up with some of our Branch Managers in your region to reflect on the challenges of 2020 and what they are looking forward to across the Christmas and New Year period.
ORANGE: Branch Manager – Paul Barclay
“Our biggest challenge for the year was ensuring our elderly customers felt safe and supported during the pandemic. It was critical that we continued to keep them informed and updated around the changing nature of banking as a result of social distancing restrictions.
The team is really looking forward to celebrating the festive season together and being able to travel again once all the state borders reopen. One of our staff is also expecting a grandchild over the break which will be super exciting.”
BATHURST: Branch Manager - Melinda Simpson
“I really believe that our team at the Bathurst branch has grown closer and our relationships with customers became stronger.
We are all more resilient as a result of this year and extremely grateful for the support the wider Greater Bank community has shown us.
While we will continue to serve our customers during the Christmas period, we are all looking forward to spending time with family and friends to round out the year.”
DUBBO: Branch Manager - Cassie Reynolds
“There’s no doubt this year has been difficult as we all adjusted to the ‘new normal’ in both our personal and professional lives.
It wasn’t all doom and gloom though. There were plenty of positives to come out of it. We’ve certainly grown as a team and come through this stronger, our connections with customers have grown deeper, and we have learned that simple acts of kindness go a long way.
Team Dubbo will celebrate Christmas this year with our loved ones, while keeping in touch with each other and of course eating and drinking like we did in ISO for one last hoorah before our New Year’s resolution to get fitter!
We look forward to 2021 with a new perspective on life, the world and our own backyard.”
