Greater Bank’s long-term support of grassroots netball has been expanded in the South Coast after linking with the Shoalhaven Netball Association for the 2021 season.
This two-decade-long support of one of the country’s most popular female sports now encompasses 15 regional associations across the state.
Based in Nowra, Shoalhaven Netball Association supports more than 1200 members aged from five years through to seniors across six clubs.
According to Association Registrar, Sue Malley, the much-need sponsorship will be invested in new equipment that will benefit all players across the association.
“Attracting sponsorship and conducting fundraising has been a real challenge over the last 18 months due to COVID, so the timing of the sponsorship from Greater Bank could not have been better,” Sue said.
“The sponsorship will allow us to do a number of things that had been put on hold in more recent times. Of note though, we plan to purchase a large range of new equipment that clubs can use for training, including netballs, markers as well as goal post pads.
“It will also support our representative program that also relies heavily on fundraising, which has been hampered in more recent times.
“We are just so appreciative of the support Greater Bank is providing, knowing that the majority of our member base will benefit from it.”

Greater Bank Head of Marketing and Customer Experience, Matt Hingston, was delighted that the bank could further expand its support of grassroots netball through the communities it operates in.
“For more than 75 years Greater Bank has proudly supported the communities that support us. It’s a principal that has long underpinned our business. It’s why we are excited to extend our 20 years support of netball into the Shoalhaven area,” said Mr Hingston.
“We’ve seen first-hand the disruption the pandemic has caused for community organisations and their ability to raise funds. I hope this support will help the association in turn support the 1000-plus members who are taking to the court this year.”
Greater Bank has also extended its sponsorship of the South Coast-based Kiama Netball Association for season 2021.
