Events are back, bigger and better with Greater support

As we continue to emerge from the COVID pandemic, major events that we have loved and supported are returning.

In the Newcastle/Hunter region, that includes the return of the Lake Macquarie Living Smart Festival and Maitland Riverlights Festival, both of which are bigger and better in 2022, and again supported by Greater Bank.

Held at Lake Macquarie’s Speers Point Park from 23-25 September, the Living Smart Festival is one of the largest environmentally focused community events in Australia.

This year, visitors will experience a jam-packed event featuring workshops, cooking demonstrations and eco-living displays designed to raise awareness of environmental issues, while inspiring people to live more sustainably.

Kids can also visit the Greater Bank marquee to take part in Sparkie's Challenge - a fun and engaging activity designed to teach kids responsible habits. Race against siblings, friends, or even Sparkie, in a series of challenges for a chance to win some great prizes.

At Greater Bank, we know that living smart fosters healthy, happy and prosperous communities, which is why we are proud to support the Living Smart Festival again in 2022.

Keep an eye on the Living Smart Festival website for further details.

Maitland Riverlights Festival returns on Saturday 8 October at the Levee Shared Zone and will transform The Levee into a global village.

The multicultural festival will feature activities and performances held across the site for patrons to view and be part of.

The Riverlights Stage on Maitland Riverbank will feature a range of professional performances from the Hunter and surrounds, while the World Stage in the Levee Precinct will host vibrant and colourful school and cultural dance performances, a cultural fashion parade, world music and our Citizenship Ceremony and Official Ceremony.

Visitors will have the chance to see, taste, feel and experience the different cultures being explored through dancing, language classes, lantern making and cooking demonstrations.

The event then shines at night with the popular festival parade and magical lantern flotilla featured on the Hunter River. Bring the kids along to the Greater Bank lantern making tent so they can take part in this unforgettable experience as they watch their creative masterpiece glide down the river.

We look forward to seeing you at these fabulous events!
