Newcastle Jets
As Major Community Partner of the Newcastle Jets, we’re bringing fans closer to their A-League and W-League heroes than ever before! Since the launch of our partnership in 2015, together we have worked to reinvigorate the club’s community focus by delivering a wide range of programs, community clinics and school visits that have reached more than 7,000 young fans across the Hunter and Northern NSW.
University of Newcastle
Greater Bank has established a partnership with the University of Newcastle that is dedicated to building the financial literacy of the region’s communities. The two organisations have united their combined strengths in education, banking, community engagement and regional focus, to deliver community education programs and practical facilities that support informed financial decision-making when managing money.
Greater Bank Fun Run Series
We are proud to support events that not only bring the community together but also promotes the importance of leading an active and healthy lifestyle, which is why we continue our support of Run NSW. The Greater Bank Fun Run Series visits regional towns and cities across NSW each year attracting over 8,000 participants.
Academies of Sport
Helping our up-and-coming athletes achieve their sporting and financial goals is a cause we support passionately. Greater Bank is the major partner of three regional academies of sport in NSW – Hunter, Central Coast and Western Region. The partnerships will allow the three programs to strengthen their position in the athlete development pathway and provide greater opportunities for regional-based athletes.
ASPIRE Program with Sam Poolman
ASPIRE. It’s a word that has driven Newcastle netballer, Sam Poolman, her entire life and something she wants the region’s next generation of netballers to do as they aim to reach the top in their sport. Greater Bank is partnering with Giants Super Netballer and Hunter Academy of Sport graduate to deliver the ASPIRE Netball program, aimed at helping young netballers navigate the pathway from amateur to professional.
Greater Bank has been a long-time supporter of BackTrack, which aides and assists young people in the NSW New England region who have lost their way in the community to reconnect with education and training. The BackTrack works with program participants to prepare them for employment, find a job and lead happier and more productive lives.
Drought Angels
Many of the community’s that we call home across Northern NSW and South-East Queensland have been ravaged by one of the worst droughts ever recorded. Along with the support of our staff, we have lent our support to the drought relief through by partnering with Drought Angels, who provide both financial and wellbeing support to those in need across the across state.
