Greater Charitable Foundation and Cerebral Palsy Alliance (CPA) are spreading joy to the mothers and carers of children living with cerebral palsy this Easter.
A special pamper pack valued at $200 has been created for mothers and carers as a way of acknowledging the unwavering love, support and commitment they provide their children every day.
There are two packs available per family, which include a range of L’Oreal make-up and jewellery, as well as a special Wiggles Feelings Book for the children to enjoy. Eligible clients and carers simply need to register their interest at the CPA Dubbo branch.
Packs will be available for collection from Greater Bank’s Dubbo Branch (186A Macquarie Street Dubbo) from 10 to 28 March 2020.
CPA Senior Program Coordinator, Angela Dives, said that while caring for a child with a disability can be a hugely rewarding experience, it can become emotionally and financially challenging, which is why they wanted to do something special for these mothers and carers this Easter.
“CPA supports children with all disabilities, and we are experts in cerebral palsy and other neurological disabilities. Cerebral palsy is the most common physical disability in childhood, and parents and carers of children with cerebral palsy and other disabilities often dedicate their life to the care and wellbeing of their child.” Angela said.
“We wanted to acknowledge how hard they work to support their children and families, often putting themselves last. So together with the Greater Charitable Foundation we decided to do something extra special to make sure they feel valued and appreciated.”

Greater Charitable Foundation announced a two-year partnership with CPA in October 2019, providing over $250,000 to support a specialist early intervention program for babies at risk of developing the condition.
According to Anne Burns, CPA’s Therapy Services Manager Dubbo and Orange, “Our families are very important to us. It’s not often that we get the chance to acknowledge how hard they work for their children. This is a small way in which we can celebrate them and their children’s mighty achievements,” she said.
One in every 700 Australian babies is diagnosed with cerebral palsy each year yet staggeringly, half of these babies get limited or no specialist early intervention before their first birthday.
Early Response Therapy Program is providing solutions for these at risk babies at a pivotal point in their development, which can reduce the severity and impact of disability for each child.
