Nigel Boogaard knows the importance of strong community support

Here's how we're inspiring our future Jets

As former club captain, Nigel Boogaard knows the importance of strong community support. Here's how as Major Community Partner, we're helping the Jets Connect with fans.

Nigel Boogaard knows the importance of strong community support

Local hero

A Newcastle junior, Nigel Boogaard dreamed of leading his hometown club from an early age. Every time he stepped onto a football field in red and blue, he was conscious of the people who've helped him on his journey, and how important the Newcastle Jets are to their passionate fans.

A genuine connection

Having had access to local elite players during his formative years, Nigel knows how important it can be to have access to your heroes in your own backyard.

Formerly at the helm of a club known for its legions of loyal fans, Nigel spearheaded the Jets: CONNECT program, fuelled by Major Community Partner, Greater Bank.

Jets: CONNECT ensures that the entire Newcastle Jets A-League and A-League Women's squads are able to get up close and personal with fans young and old across Newcastle, The Hunter and NSW.

The Jets:CONNECT Program

Jets:LEARN Online allows schools to score a coaching clinic from their heroes. We've teamed up with the Jets to give primary schools an online program of football skills lessons specially designed by your favourite Jets players. Jets:LEARN Online is available to all primary schools across Newcastle and regional NSW completely FREE. To take part all you need to do is register your interest and the Newcastle Jets will be in touch with more information.

As part of our commitment to supporting the community and local participation in sport, Greater Bank supports Jets:PLAY, a football skills program that gives everybody the chance to learn from their sporting heroes. These free training sessions are for kids aged 5 to 14 and are held in locations around Newcastle and regional NSW.
