A key platform of the Foundation's activities is the involvement of Greater Bank employees in funded projects through volunteering and pro bono assistance.
On average, around 200 Greater Bank employees a year volunteer their time to support one of our Greater Charitable Foundation partners; with many volunteering more than once and for more than one partner!
Historically, the Foundation announces an annual Employee Volunteer of the Year Award to recognise Greater Bank employees who go above and beyond in their volunteering support. This award was established in 2015 to recognise the time, passion and commitment shown by Greater Bank staff for their local communities.
The Foundation has been nominated over several years for the Centre for Volunteering NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards. In 2020, we were honoured to win the prestigious NSW Corporate Volunteer Team of the Year Award, recognising our long-term volunteer support for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance.
In 2018 and 2020, we were also nominated in the Queensland Volunteering Awards. In addition, a number of our charity partners have recognised the commitment our staff give to volunteering, nominating them for local mentoring awards and the Youth Action NSW award.
Greater Charitable Foundation has announced a commitment of close to $800,000 to support four new charitable partners over the next three years.
Greater Charitable Foundation has launched a two-year partnership with mental health organisation, batyr, that aims to improve the mental health and wellbeing of young people in tertiary education.
