Greater Bank sponsors netball in the Upper Hunter

With their season kicking off over the weekend, netballers in the Upper Hunter had an extra pep in their step with funding from Greater Bank set to subsidise registration fees to help more youngsters play the sport they love.
Singleton, Muswellbrook, and Scone associations have teamed up with the customer-owned bank to support the growth and development of local netballers.

This year’s support will help Singleton Netball Association (SNA) host their annual clinic, which provides skills development opportunities for both players and coaches.

SNA President Sharon Power said the club is planning for another strong season after a win at last year’s Junior State Titles.

“We are really grateful to Greater Bank for their support, which is so much more than a financial contribution. Each year the local staff members come along to our skills clinic and donate their time by cooking a barbecue and serving our players and coaches,” Sharon said.

“We had a fantastic year last season, one of the highlights being that our under 14’s team came first at the Junior State Titles!

“We are going to have another great year; we have already signed on an extra 100 players which we hope to grow along with our representative program.”

Greater Bank Singleton Branch Manager Melita Rolf said netball brings a touching display of community spirit to the cooler months.

“We are really proud to support the local netball associations that bring our community together for good,” Melita said.

“It’s great to see people come together to cheer along their family and friends from the sidelines – its great to see our sense of spirit come to life!

“It’s going to be another brilliant season, and we hope everyone has a fun year.”
