With their season now underway, Tweed’s netballers have an extra pep in their step with funding from Greater Bank set to subsidise registration fees to help more youngsters play the sport they love.
Following a strong 2024, which saw Tweed Netball Association have great success across both Junior and Senior divisions at the Queensland State Age Championships, the association is keen to bring more participants to the game.
Tweed Netball Association President Viki Pengilley said they want to ensure the cost of participation was not a barrier for Tweed’s representative players
“We are so grateful for Greater Bank’s support, which will help our representative teams by covering costs for uniforms and specialist coaching,” Viki said.
“Along with having fun, this year we want to keep the passion for our sport alive so we are focused on creating more education opportunities for our umpires, coaches and parents.”
Greater Bank Regional Manager Steph Smith said netball brings a touching display of community spirit to the cooler months.
“We are really proud to support the local netball associations that bring our community together for good,” Steph said.
“It’s great to see people come together to cheer along their family and friends from the sidelines – it’s great to see our sense of spirit come to life!
“It’s going to be another brilliant season, and we hope everyone has a fun year.”
