ASPIRE Netball gives back to flood affected Manning Valley Netball association

Netballers from Manning Valley Netball Association will get the opportunity to complete the Aspire Development Program this October school holidays as part of Greater Bank's $10,000 donation towards flood recovery efforts.

The free clinic will be delivered on Saturday 11 October at the Taree Netball Courts to almost 50 local representative players aged 11 to 15 whose season was heavily disrupted by the floods in May 2025.

Aspire Netball will be delivering their Aspire Development Program run by former professional netballer Sam Poolman and a team of coaches, with the day focusing on building the foundations of an elite netballer which will give players additional skills and knowledge as they head into a new representative season.

Sam was looking forward to helping give back to the Manning Valley netball community.

"I am excited to be returning to Manning Valley Netball Association to deliver our Aspire Development Program to nearly 50 local representative netballers. The program’s purpose has always been to give aspiring netballers the opportunity to train and grow," Sam said.

"Thanks to Greater Bank, we are able to come together to train, learn, have fun through a shared passion for netball and boost the spirits of the community who has gone through so much after the devastating floods earlier this year."

MVNA Registrar Wendy Bosher said that the clinic will not only uplift spirits but help develop more talent in the region.

"Our netballers have had a disruptive season with the floods heavily impacting our community. For many families, money is tight, so we are extremely grateful to Greater Bank and Sam Poolman for bringing this free clinic to our region," Wendy said.

"This clinic will be a great opportunity to learn and refine some new skills in preparation for the 2026 season and for upcoming representative trials without putting additional strain on their family's finances."

Greater Bank Taree Branch Manager Robyn Melton said that the regional based bank was honoured to support the netball association.

"We are delighted to be able to team up with Sam Poolman and deliver her Aspire Development Program free of charge to the Taree netball community," Robyn said.

"This program is a unique opportunity for players to receive coaching by Sam, who has extensive professional experience and help to enhance their netball skills.

"The Greater Bank has been a proud sponsor of Manning Valley Netball Association for five years and we are honoured to help give this region who has been through so much a much-needed boost."
