The people have spoken, and Greater Bank’s mobile banking app is the best in market.
That’s according to the recently announced 2021 Mozo People’s Choice Awards, where the Hunter-based financial institution received the award for Mobile Banking Experience.
It was one of five awards Greater Bank received in the banking category, including Outstanding Customer Satisfaction, Excellent Customer Service, Highly Trusted and Most Recommended.
Like many financial institutions, Greater Bank has seen significant increase in customer demand for digital and mobile banking facilities over the past five years, which has driven the bank’s investment and development in this important service channel.
Each month, more than 55% of Greater Bank’s 273,000 customers use the smartphone app as their primary source of interaction with the bank, performing tasks such as checking balances, transferring funds and paying bills.
Greater Bank’s Head of Marketing and Customer Experience, Matt Hingston, said the Mozo People’s Choice Award is recognition of the significant investment Greater Bank has and continues to make in the digital space.
“The smartphone has become vital to all of our lives, primarily due to the speed and efficiency it provides in performing everyday tasks. Banking is one industry that has benefited greatly from the evolution and innovation of this technology,” Mr Hingston said.
“In recent years, particularly through 2020 and the height of the pandemic, we have seen a significant shift by customers towards digital and online platforms, which allows them the convenience of conducting their banking where and when it’s convenient to them.
“As the downloads and use of our app has increased, so too has the demand on the level of functionality, whereby today so much of your everyday banking tasks and functions can be done from your smartphone.
“Providing an outstanding customer experience has been critical to the development and ultimately the popularity of our app. We are constantly listening to our customers, so we can provide them with an app that is easy to understand and use.

Now in its 12th year, the Mozo People's Choice Awards are announced annually to recognise companies with the highest customer satisfaction levels, best service, and a range of other qualities. This year, nearly 4000 Australians were surveyed for the awards seeking their opinions on the performance of 135 banks around the country. The award winners are determined solely by the votes of customers.
