With their season kicking off this weekend, Penrith netballers are going to have an extra pep in their step with funding from Greater Bank set to subsidise registration fees to help more youngsters play the sport they love.
Following a strong 2024, which saw Penrith’s 14-years representative team place second at the Netball NSW Junior State Titles, the association is keen to bring more participants into the game.
President Joy Gillet OAM said that they want to ensure the cost of participation was not a barrier for Penrith’s young players.
“Greater Bank’s support will directly help our players and their families by assisting with registration fees for our players,” Joy said.
“The funding from Greater Bank helps boost participation in Saturday grassroots netball. The cost of sport is significant for many, and to be able to make some contribution to these costs is very beneficial to our local families.”
Greater Bank Penrith Branch Manager Allison Bateman said netball brings a touching display of community spirit to the cooler months.
“This is the fifth year of our partnership with Penrith District Netball Association and we are really proud to continue our support and bring our community together for good,” Alison said.
“It’s great to see people come together to cheer along their family and friends from the sidelines – it’s great to see our sense of spirit come to life!
“It’s going to be another fantastic season, and we hope everyone has a fun year.”
