Young people across Orange will have more opportunities to thrive thanks to 3rd Orange Scouts which have been named a recent winner of the Greater Bank Central West Community Funding Program.
The 3rd Orange Scouts provide a safe and inclusive environment for young people aged 5-18 to build resilience, leadership and life skills through outdoor adventures, teamwork and service.
The group promotes environmental awareness and responsible citizenship, helping participants to grow into confident, community-minded adults.
3rd Orange Scouts Group Leader Gordon Howard said the funding will be used to purchase essential equipment.
"We will use the funding to upgrade our outdoor and personal safety gear to ensure our scouts have the tools and resources they need to have a fulfilling, educational and safe experience in the outdoors," Gordon said.
"Scouting provides a structured and supportive environment where young people can make lasting friendships with peers who share common values.
"We are incredibly grateful to Greater Bank for this funding that will make a significant impact on our organisation that helps us to continue to build a foundation for continued success, growth and service to the community."

Greater Bank Regional Manager Greg Creagan congratulated the Scouts group and highlighted the important role it plays in the local community.
“The 3rd Orange Scouts program fosters friendships, encourages self-growth, and connects families across the region. They develop future leaders and help give back by regularly engaging in community clean-ups, fundraising, volunteering, and supporting local events,” Greg said.
“We are proud to support this association and the inspiring work they do across the local community.”
3rd Orange Scouts Group is one of 156 local organisations to receive more than $150,000 funding through Greater Bank Central West Community Funding Program since August 2021.
