Bathurst athletics scores a boost

New partnership to support grassroots sport in Bathurst

Athletes of all ages and abilities in Bathurst are set to benefit from a new partnership between Greater Bank and Bathurst Athletics Club, helping locals get active, develop their skills and build confidence through grassroots sport.

The partnership will see us sponsor Bathurst Athletics Club throughout the 2026– 27 season, supporting athletes at all levels and the dedicated volunteers and families who make local sport possible.

Greater Bank Central West Regional Manager Greg Creagan said the partnership was an opportunity to support athletes at every stage of their sporting journey.

“Local sporting clubs are such an important part of regional communities, creating opportunities for people to discover new interests, build friendships and develop skills that stay with them well beyond the sporting field,” Greg said.

“Bathurst Athletics Club provides a welcoming environment for athletes of all ages and abilities, from those taking their first steps in the sport to those competing at an elite level, and we're proud to support the club as it continues to grow.

“We know how much time and effort goes into running a grassroots sporting club, and this partnership is also a way of recognising the volunteers and families who make it all possible.

“Greater Bank has a long history of supporting regional communities, and we're pleased to build on that commitment in Bathurst, alongside our existing support for local sport and events.”

Bathurst Athletics Club President Jason Smart welcomed the new partnership, saying the sponsorship would help the club continue delivering a positive experience for local athletes.

“Every season, we see the difference athletics makes to people of all ages, whether they're trying a new event for the first time, achieving a personal best, performing at an elite level or simply enjoying being part of a team,” Jason said.

“Having the backing of Greater Bank means we can continue creating opportunities for athletes to develop, challenge themselves and achieve their goals.

“We're really grateful for Greater Bank's support and the opportunities this partnership will help us provide for the Bathurst community throughout the season.”

The partnership will support the 2026–27 Athletics season, running from October 2026 to April 2027.
